  • We are excited to announce an upcoming training hosted by PIHC’s Emotional Wellness and Recovery Department, in collaboration with the PIHC Institute.

    Training Title: Psychodynamic Theories in Clinical Practice: Deepening Understanding and Application into Modern Therapeutic Practice

    This training will be presented by Dr. Moneta Sinclair, LPC, MAC, CPCS and will provide clinicians and helping professionals with a deeper understanding of psychodynamic theories and their relevance in modern clinical practice. Participants will explore foundational concepts and learn how to effectively integrate psychodynamic approaches into assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment planning.

    Training Objectives

    Participants will be able to:

    • Develop a thorough understanding of core psychodynamic concepts, including unconscious processes, defense mechanisms, transference, and countertransference
    • Explore major psychodynamic theories and approaches, including classical, ego, object relations, and self-psychology perspectives
    • Apply psychodynamic principles to case conceptualization, assessment, and treatment planning across diverse clinical populations
    • Enhance clinical skills in building therapeutic alliance, interpreting client material, and integrating psychodynamic insights into evidence-informed practice
