Training Title: Supporting Clients Through Grief: Evidence-Based Approaches for Therapists

This training will be presented by Kotia Owens, LPC and will provide clinicians and helping professionals with practical, evidence-based approaches to supporting clients through grief and loss. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how grief presents across different populations and learn effective strategies to provide compassionate, client-centered care.
Training Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Understand the psychological, emotional, and physiological processes of grief across the lifespan and within diverse cultural contexts
- Identify common grief reactions, complicated grief, and risk factors that may require specialized interventions
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches for grief support, including individual, group, and family interventions
- Develop skills in assessment, treatment planning, and resource referral to effectively support clients navigating loss
