  • We are excited to announce an upcoming Working with Criminal Justice Impacted Clients Training Session hosted by PIHC’s Emotional Wellness and Recovery Department in collaboration with the PIHC Institute on March 12th, 2026. This valuable training session will take place at 2800 Century Parkway NE, Ste 500, Atlanta GA 30345 in the big training room from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

    This training will be presented by Jordan Detweiler, CACII, and will focus on building clinical skills to effectively support individuals impacted by the criminal justice system.

    Training Objectives

    Participants will be able to:

    - Understand the diverse pathways into criminal justice involvement, including the systemic, social, and psychological factors influencing client experiences

    - Build rapport and trust through trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches that support engagement and safety, while collaborating effectively with justice-system stakeholders and maintaining ethical boundaries, client autonomy, and a strong therapeutic alliance

    - Create individualized treatment plans that address trauma, substance use, reentry challenges, and legal constraints

    - Identify and integrate community resources and collaborative supports to promote client stability and successful reintegration

    Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

    CEUs will be available for eligible participants. Attendees must complete all training requirements and sign-in documentation to receive credit.

    - Free for Positive Impact Health Center staff

    - $90 for participants outside of the agency
